How Saving Money Can Affect Your Future

Saving is just a matter of giving importance. If it’s important to you, you will gladly do it. Despite the hardships that you need to cross, you will make ways.

When was the last time that you will able to save? How much are your savings now? Are you satisfied with your current savings? Or you might think, does saving money really matter? How saving money can affect your future?

    Why People Won’t Save

Some people will ask, why will I save? I do not want to restrict my self and not to live the lifestyle that I want. That is the reason why I am working, right? This obviously means that saving is not part of their priority.

I am not in debt, what I earn can support my lifestyle. I want to enjoy life.

Other people will say I do not have enough money to save. Prices are going high. There’s no money left for saving.

Yes, this may be your case right now. But have you considered the other things that will not usually happen? Events that are life-changing. How prepared are you in case unexpected events in your life will occur?

Here are some of the not-so-good events:

    • an accident of a family member or even worst a death
    • a family member has an illness that needs to be treated in many years
    • terminated from a job

These are just some of the unexpected cases that might happen in our life. If any of these will happen to you, hopefully not, how well prepared are you? If you cannot answer it directly, then you are not prepared at all. You are not just prepared emotionally but also financially. That is why it is really important to have savings. You are living now abundantly but with just a snap of a finger, your life can turn the other way around. No one knows.

You may say, that will not happen to me. And if it will happen I have a family member or close friend that I can rely on. Remember, they have also their own struggles in life.

Do not leave your future to uncertainty. It is always better to be ready than to be sorry later. Life is full of uncertainties, you will not know what will happen tomorrow. Can you tell me what will happen in the next hour? I bet not.

    Building Motivation

One trick to build motivation to save is to have goals or purpose. What will be your purpose for saving or your financial goals? Is it to travel the world? To save for your dream wedding? To build your own company?

For me, it is to live my life wherein I can control my own time. I do not want to work until 65 years old. There are a lot of things that I want to experience. To spend my time with those people who are important to me. I want to be in control of my life, my own time. That no one will dictate me what time to wake up every single day just to go to work. I believe that I can only achieve this if I start wisely handling my money and that includes saving. Money that I can invest in other things in order to multiply.

Without saving how can you increase your cash flow? How can you invest in order to earn more? You need to save first before you can grow it. Just like in farming, how can you grow plants or crops if you do not have seeds? How can you earn more if every end of the month, you will have no more money left?

How Saving Money Can Affect Your Future

Saving is equally as important as earning. Do not underestimate the power of savings. As Benjamin Franklin said, “A penny saved is a penny earned.”. This is true to some extent. Every time you save, it gives you a chance to grow your money by investing it. Of course, that will not happen automatically. You need to develop saving as a habit.

Make some sacrifices for now. Think about the future, about the things that you are always dreaming of. Reexamine your life.

Are you really satisfied with what and where you are right now? Are there many things that you want to do but you cannot do because you lack money? What are the reasons that are hindering you?

Evaluate yourself. How far or near are you in achieving your goals in life especially in the financial aspect? Lastly, ask your self “Do I really need to save?”

Above are just some of the instances of how saving money can affect your future. Do you believe also in the importance of saving money?
